Is tadalafil effective?
Two clinical studies (n=706) demonstrated the ability to have successful sexual intercourse up to 36 hours following dosing with tadalafil. Men were able to achieve and maintain erections for successful intercourse as early as 30 minutes after a 10mg dose, compared to placebo.13
Sixteen clinical studies (n=3250) evaluated tadalafil at various doses from 2mg to 100mg.13
IN PRIMARY EFFICACY STUDIES OF GENERAL POPULATIONS:
8 in 10 men reported improved erections
Improved erections were reported regardless of the severity of dysfunction – improvements were reported in 86% of those suffering from mild, 83% for those suffering from moderate and 72% for those suffering from severe ED
75% of intercourse attempts were successful
Most men will achieve an erection the first or second time they use AVARANTE. However, it may not work for everyone. Men should be advised that AVARANTE may need to be taken a number of times on different occasions, before they can achieve an erection satisfactory for sexual activity. Customers should adhere to the recommended dosing instructions.13
In non-responders, the following may need to be addressed:18
Not using adequate sexual stimulation
Not waiting an adequate amount of time between taking the medication and attempting intercourse
The customer may require a different dose, in which case referral to the GP is required
The customer may be using medication obtained from an unregulated source. Check that the product being used is a licensed medication. Those obtained from unregulated routes are not tested for their safety or efficacy and may not contain the ingredients or quantities listed within them. Reassure your customer that all medicines supplied from your pharmacy, including AVARANTE and VIAGRA CONNECT, are licensed and carefully regulated
If the product is being used correctly but after several attempts on different dosing occasions they are still not able to achieve an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity, or if their ED worsens after taking AVARANTE, they should be referred to their GP.13
