A London-based prescription delivery service is to set up a new ‘state of the art’ warehouse having secured “six-figure support” from HSBC UK.
Online company Signature Pharmacy will use the money to fund a warehouse in West London with a dispensary and “in house technology department” to grow its business delivering repeat medicines to the homes of patients living in London who have signed up to the online service.
The company’s CEO and superintendent pharmacist Reece Shamani, who launched it in 2016, was named in the Forbes Europe 30 under 30 list earlier this year in the Science and Healthcare category. He says the company is “on track to hit $2m in revenue this year,” according to Forbes.
Mr Shamani said: “We’re building the future of pharmacy with our technology and on-demand pharmacy logistics, and thanks to telephone consultations and digital prescriptions, we can now provide a healthcare gateway that was previously unavailable.”
He said the financial support from HSBC UK would help the company “expand our on-demand healthcare services to a wider range of patients,” claiming this would have the effect of “revolutionising the healthcare industry”.
HSBC UK senior commercial manager Raj Yadav commented: “Healthcare services are under significant strain across the country, and as pharmacies across the UK take on more responsibilities we’re pleased to support Signature Pharmacy in its efforts to support health service provision and deliver essential pharmaceutical services to communities.”
