1. Scoping

We’re going to focus on how patient care in primary care is going to be changed by the way the pandemic has been handled, and what role pharmacy will play in 2025. Scenario planning often has a longer horizon, but for this exercise, something shorter seems appropriate.

2. Trend analysis

In order to make any meaningful prediction of what might happen in the future, it is important to have an understanding of what is happening now. The best way to do this is to monitor and analyse the current environment. We’re going to use a PESTLE (Political, Economical, Sociological, Technological, Legal and Environmental) analysis to provide an understanding of the part that each of these forces currently play in pharmacy. This will be the focus of the next three slides.
