Autumn will kickstart one of the busiest periods in the community pharmacy calendar. Alongside the demands of dispensing and patient care, teams are now managing an increasingly demanding vaccination programme covering flu, Covid-19 and MenB services. For many community pharmacists, the next few months will bring increased pressure on capacity, so having the right practical measures in place will be key to ensuring the season runs smoothly.

Scheduling is a good place to start. Patient vaccination slots need to sit alongside prescriptions and walk-in demand without one crowding out the other.
