Superdrug has announced that its Online Doctor service has passed an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The CQC assesses digital healthcare providers against criteria such as whether they are safe, effective, caring and well-led. It said that Superdrug Online Doctor treats patients in line with best practice guidance and conforms to the latest data protection regulations, and that appropriate medical records were maintained.
Michael Henry, healthcare director at Superdrug, said: “Online prescribers across the board have been scrutinised and criticised over the past months. This makes the outcome of this report even more important in reinforcing Superdrug Online Doctor as a leader when it comes to online healthcare.Â
“We are delighted at the outcome of the report and are constantly looking for new ways to bring the best service to our customers, both online and in store.â€
