Pharmacist Support launches #GoGreen4PS 2017

World Pharmacists Day on 25 September will see the start of the second annual Pharmacist Support #GoGreen4PS fundraising week.

Pharmacy students, pre-registration trainees, pharmacists and retired pharmacists are encouraged to celebrate “all things green” and raise money for the charity’s work in supporting pharmacists and pharmacy students in times of need.

The first #GoGreen4PS campaign ran last September, marking the charity’s 175th anniversary. People wore green outfits and wigs, held green bake sales, ate green food and drank green tea, crafted green bracelets and pens and hosted green quizzes, raising £5,290 across the week.

Pharmacist Support’s Chief Executive Diane Leicester-Hallam, said: “We’re calling on everyone within the profession – individuals and organisations – to show their support, to get involved, get creative and most importantly to have fun. Our goal this year is to raise £10,000 to enable us to continue to provide our free and confidential support to pharmacists, students and former pharmacists facing difficult times.”

The charity has a range of GoGreen resources to help those wishing to get involved to green up, including posters, donation boxes, bunting, quiz questions and games. Supporters can also help raise awareness via social media by joining the #GoGreen4PS Thunderclap and by adding a twibbon to their social media profile pictures.
