CCA appoints new chief exec

The Company Chemists’ Association (CCA) has announced the appointment of Malcolm Harrison as its new chief executive, replacing Nanette Kerr.

Mr Harrison, a former senior manager at Boots UK and fellow of the NHS Innovation Accelerator Programme, takes up his post on 5 March. He paid tribute to Ms Kerr’s leadership of the trade association for pharmacy multiples over the past two and a half years, saying she “has led the CCA so effectively these past several years, in at times quite challenging circumstances. I look forward to continuing the great work initiated by Nanette and the CCA team and thank her for her support.”

Margaret MacRury, superintendent director at Rowlands Pharmacy and chair of the CCA, said: “I am delighted to welcome Malcolm on board. He brings over 20 years of experience as a pharmacist and regional manager, and most recently led the Community Pharmacy Future programme road testing new and innovative pharmacy services.

“This leadership, intimate knowledge of our profession and industry, and forward-thinking attitude, will be essential as we mould a new relationship with the NHS and local healthcare providers.”
