Alliance Healthcare non-executive advisor (and regular P3 contributor) Mike Smith celebrates 50 years in the pharmacy profession this year. Mr Smith recently received a letter from Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) president Martin Astbury congratulating him on reaching this milestone.

“Mike has been on the register at RPS for 50 years and is an outstanding pharmacist and person, and has made numerous positive impacts across the profession and the Society generally,” Mr Astbury said.

Mr Smith commented: “I can’t believe it’s been 50 years! So much has happened in that time, and continues to happen now as the pharmacy profession faces significant challenges. I’m very proud of the value community pharmacy can deliver, and the positive changes I have helped contribute to along the way.”
