Asda Pharmacy has announced it will offer its Meningitis B vaccines at cost price until the end of April, which amounts to a £29.96 discount.
The supermarket chain announced today (March 19) that all 242 of its pharmacies will offer MenB vaccines at a rate of £75 for dose, or £150 for a full course, on a first come, first served basis until April 30.
The dual dose is normally priced at £179.96 as part of a service that launched in April 2025.
Asda said it was lowering its prices in response to the UK Health Security Agency confirming that meningitis cases recently identified in Kent involve the rarer MenB strain.
The company said it will prioritise at-risk groups for distributing its supplies, with a “particular emphasis” on the 18-25 age group.
Asda advised patients to book ahead before arriving at the pharmacy, either through its website or by calling their local pharmacy if appointments do not show as available.
Faisal Tuddy, superintendent pharmacist at Asda, commented: “We understand that many families are increasingly worried about the Meningitis B outbreak and as a community-focussed retailer, we want to do all we can to help.
“By offering this vaccine at cost price, we’re making it as easy and affordable as possible for people who can’t access it through the NHS.
“This service is available in all Asda Pharmacies and we're consistently monitoring stock levels to ensure we can offer this service to as many customers as possible.”
