Alphega members ponder future of pharmacy

Over 200 pharmacists and sector leaders gathered in Birmingham earlier this month for Alphega Pharmacy UKs annual Elevate Convention 2025, focused on shaping the future of independent pharmacy through innovation, AI and patient-centred care.

Themed Leading the Future of Pharmacy, the conference featured keynote speaker Dr Zubir Ahmed MP (pictured above) and industry representatives from Perrigo, Reckitt, Serve First and Kenvue. Breakout sessions highlighted practical case studies and supplier-led discussions on digital solutions, smoking cessation and community pharmacist empowerment.

Mandeep Mudhar, head of Alphega, praised the event's forward-thinking spirit, saying it showcased “the opportunities that lie ahead for innovative, patient-first pharmacies”.

Dr Ahmed called the event a “landmark” and emphasised the growing importance of community pharmacy in NHS care delivery. “Alphega members are instrumental in driving the shift from hospital-based care to more community-focused services,” he said.

A fundraiser raised £6,682 for Pharmacist Support.
