The government has announced the policy to cap care costs at £72,000 in England will be delayed until 2020. The costs were to be capped for the over 65s and younger adults with disabilities from April 2016. Charity Age UK says that the social care system is in danger of collapse.

More than 4,600 people in 120 countries took part in an online survey to decide on new tools to help people with psoriasis. Led by the International Federation of Psoriasis Associations, schemes included patient education on treatment options and educating policy makers and doctors.

The chance of an obese person attaining normal body weight is 1 in 210 for men and 1 in 124 for women, according to a study of UK health records led by King’s College London. Of those who achieved a five per cent body weight loss, 53 per cent regained the weight in two years.

Scientists have advised the government to halve the current recommended daily intake of sugar. The Scientific Advisory Committee of Nutrition has advised that only five per cent of daily calories should come from added sugar: about seven teaspoons of sugar for adults.
