The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency has recalled a batch of eye drops.

The batch (number C104308) of Sodium Chloride Eye Drops 5% 1x10ml was recalled because the sterile eye droppers supplied with the product expired in January. The MHRA urged health professionals to quarantine any remaining stock from the batch and return it to the manufacturer Stockport Pharmaceuticals.  

Meanwhile, the Department of Health and Social Care has warned that stocks of an insulin product have run out but assured healthcare professionals that alternatives remain available.

The DHSC said supplies of Insuman Comb 50 100units/ml suspension for injection 3ml cartridges has been discontinued because stocks have been “exhausted imminently” but insisted Humolog Mix 50 is available as are “other biphasic insulin preparations.” The DHSC added that “manufacturers can support a full uplift in supply".
