Public Health England has published updated versions of the Eatwell plate and the 5-A-Day logo to make them “more relevant” to current dietary advice.

The new Eatwell Guide provides a visual representation of official advice on a healthy, balanced diet. It has replaced the Eatwell Plate following new government dietary recommendations, analysis based on the National Diet and Nutrition Survey and consumer research, with the aim of making it as easy to understand as possible.

For the first time, healthier drink advice is included along with advice to limit fruit juices and smoothies – which count as one of the five a day – to a daily total of 150ml.
