Well pharmacy chain has partnered with Keele University to launch a three-year diploma, the Expert Clinical Practice Programme (ECPP).
The course, aimed at the company’s highest performing pharmacists, will help to develop current practice and will offer “an internal talent pipeline for future clinical and professional roles†within the business.
The course aims to “broaden knowledge, enhance confidence and develop in areas of personal interest for future career progressionâ€. It also aims to ensure that pharmacists are delivering high quality and effective services, “while encouraging them to impart knowledge to customers, enabling them to optimise their understanding of medications, empowering them to make key decisions about their care,†said a statement from the company.Â
Ben Turner, human resources director at Well, commented: “Our pharmacists are clinical experts in medicines, whose primary focus is to put the customer at the centre of every consultation. We have developed our ECPP to further grow our people by educating them to provide a personalised and effective service and deliver community pharmacy of the future.â€
Elizabeth Mills, director of pharmacy postgraduate studies at Keele University, said: “We are delighted to be delivering the ECPP for Well. The ECPP has been designed in partnership with Well to provide Well pharmacists with a wider view of healthcare, and to develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to provide the healthcare of the future.â€
The three-year diploma is open to applications from Well pharmacists, with 50 places available nationally.
