Starting on 8 June is National Carers Week, the annual campaign aimed at raising awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution carers make to families and communities across the UK.

There are almost seven million carers in the UK, which is one in ten people.

There is also an estimated 116,000 carers over the age of 85 in England alone, many of whom put their own health at risk by caring for their loved one.

Your customers may not think of themselves as a carer but if perhaps they've looked after a spouse or family member with a long term illness or injury they could be missing out on the help available to them.

The main welfare benefit for carers, the Carer's Allowance, is worth £62.10 per week for those eligible.
