The regional winners of I Love My Pharmacist, a competition in which the public votes for their most popular pharmacist, have been announced, with four of the six finalists community pharmacists.
The 18 finalists were chosen from hundreds of entries by an I Love My Pharmacist judging panel, made up of RPS president Ash Soni, 2014 winner Reena Barai, RPS head of corporate communications Neal Patel and patient representative Michael Mansfield.
A public vote then decided the winners from the 18 regional finalists, and the six regional winners are:
Scotland - Johnathan Laird, community pharmacist in Turiff, Aberdeenshire
Wales - Owain Brooks, renal pharmacist at Morriston Hospital in Swansea
Southern England - Emily Rose, pharmacist at Southmead Hospital, Bristol
London and Kent - Karen Dolphin, community pharmacist at Greenlight Pharmacy in Hampstead
Midlands and East - Helen Watton, pharmacy manager at Holmcroft Pharmacy in Stafford
Northern England - David Halliwell, pharmacist at LloydsPharmacy in Douglas, Isle of Man.
The I Love My Pharmacist judging panel will next meet with each of the six regional winners to choose the national winner, who will be announced on 3 November 2015.
The competition looks to highlight the great work that pharmacists and their teams do for patients on a daily basis, says the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and was open to pharmacists across all sectors of pharmacy.
