‘Faces of pharmacy’ wanted for NHS England campaign

NHS England has issued a call for community pharmacy team members to take part in a nationwide advertising campaign highlighting the services they offer.

The Stay Well Pharmacy campaign, which is expected to run in 2018, is aimed at boosting the uptake of pharmacy services and reducing the number of unnecessary GP appointments, through increasing public trust in the sector.

It will target parents and carers of young children affected by short-term, self-limiting minor illnesses and highlight how the advice and support available in community pharmacy can, along with self care, help them manage these conditions effectively.

The national pharmacy organisations will be helping NHS England gather photographs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians for the campaign at this year’s Pharmacy Show (NEC Birmingham, 8-9 October).

The PSNC says that following this scouting phase, “NHS England will narrow down the list and contact successful candidates to take part in a professional photo shoot. NHS England would also like for these ‘faces of pharmacy’ to be available for media interviews once the campaign has launched.”

Those interested in taking part are invited to visit the following stands at the Pharmacy Show:

  • Royal Pharmaceutical Society – for the duration of the Pharmacy Show
  • National Pharmacy Association – 2pm on Sunday 8th October, and Monday 9th October
  • Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK – for the duration of the Pharmacy Show.
