A pharmacy website is just like a pharmacy – right down to the impression you get when you visit, including how it looks and how easy it is to do what you need to do.
Sending people to a pharmacy website that’s outdated, doesn’t offer the functionality they need or the information they want is like sending somebody to a pharmacy where the customer service is terrible, the decor is tired, it’s a mess of paperwork and it takes forever to be seen. It just doesn’t give a good impression.
If you are a customer for the first time, it doesn’t matter
whether you are visiting a website or a pharmacy when you don’t get a good impression. You turn around and you don’t go back. So it should not be a shock that you will not make many sales from advertising something through a website or a pharmacy that people aren’t impressed with. It doesn’t matter how many people you send there, either.
To give your digital marketing the best chance of success, you need to create a digital experience that doesn’t make patients hit the back button three seconds after they click on your advert. That digital experience is website design, and it’s so important to get that right. It’s also why it’s important to have a good Facebook page and Google My Business profile too, as people may well want to have a quick look around the web to find out more about you.
A pharmacy website is just like a pharmacy from a business perspective too.
Leaving your website without the option to book is like only accepting walk-in appointments in your pharmacy. Leaving your website without the option to pay is like not having a card machine in your pharmacy. Leaving your website without search engine optimisation (the process of optimising your content so that search engines find your website easily) is like not talking to your patients when they visit or not telling anyone about any services you offer.
The list goes on. But essentially, the better the design of your website, the easier it becomes for you to manage your business.
