Drug Tariff distribution changes

You might want to hang on to your January 2019 copy of the Drug Tariff, since NHS England is to stop automatically sending monthly printed copies to community pharmacies after the January edition.

Pharmacy teams are being encouraged to use the NHS BSA website where the Drug Tariff –both current and previous months - can be viewed online or accessed as a .pdf file.

The technologically-challenged can request to continue receiving the monthly hard copy by emailing a request to DTBsurvey@nhs.net before 10 January, 2019, stating that you wish to opt-in to receive the monthly printed copy Drug Tariff from 2019. You will need to provide:

  • Your name
  • Your business name and address
  • F-code/ODS code
  • Any days you are not open and alternative delivery instructions for those days.

Any pharmacies that chose not to opt-in will still receive one printed Drug Tariff each year in January. Any queries about the change should be directed to pcse.enquiries@nhs.net or 0333 014 2884.

PSNC publishes a monthly 'Drug Tariff Watch' article on its website which can help contractors prepare in advance for any upcoming changes in the Drug Tariff.
