Independent survey set up to gather contractors’ views

The views of pharmacy contractors on proposed pharmacy cuts, and the impact these might have on pharmacy services, are being sought in a survey, to help understand what contractors are “thinking and feeling”.

Altaf Vaiya, pharmacist and pharmacy owner of Alpharm Pharmacy, Leicester, and Leicestershire & Rutland LPC committee member, who set up the survey, says that over 230 contractors have already completed the ‘Think pharmacy!’ questions, and that around 500 responses are hoped for.

“Contractors do have a voice,” he said. Questions in the survey include, “How will the proposed funding cuts and pharmacy closures impact patient care and services provided?” and “Where do you think the money needed for the 6 per cent cutbacks will come from?”

The findings will be shared with the pharmacy bodies. Pharmacy contractors can view and complete the survey at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/39P3NKF
