There are four MBA programmes available. The choice of format will be determined by the time that you have available to study, and whether or not you will be combining the course with your current employment.
The full-time MBA
This is ideal for earning your MBA degree without external pressures. Another strong advantage is that you will learn as much from your peers as from teaching staff. A full-time MBA gives students the opportunity to establish long-lasting contacts and friendships. The average age of students is 26.
The part-time MBA
Part-time programmes give you the luxury of maintaining your full-time job. You will have classes on weekday evenings, weekends, or both. The average age of part-time students is 29.
The online MBA
If you need your employer's sponsorship to complete an MBA degree, distance learning (usually over three-plus years) is probably the best choice. An employer is more likely to sponsor such an MBA because it is significantly less expensive and less disruptive to the business. Online education is by no means an easy option.
There is minimal peer learning and support and you need to exercise self-discipline to complete the degree. The online MBA drop-out rate is higher than that of any other programme type.
The executive MBA
The EMBA places strong demands on candidates; an impressive academic background and relevant experience are required. EMBA participants are considerably older, usually have a wealth of work experience under their belts and the classes are often more dynamic with students and faculty learning much from each other. EMBA programmes give the opportunity to share classes with highly experienced senior managers.
