Alliance Healthcare meets with trainee pharmacists

Pharmaceutical wholesaler and distributor Alliance Healthcare has met with the newest members of the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) to discuss how young people joining the profession can be supported and inspired.

New BPSA members were invited to Alliance Healthcare’s Support Centre site in Chessington. Alliance Healthcare UK non-executive director Mike Smith, who last year was awarded Honorary Life Membership of the BPSA, gave a tour of the centre to show students the scale of operations at one of the busiest pharmaceutical wholesale service centres in the country.

BPSA and Alliance Healthcare UK have also launched the 2017 Future of Pharmacy Student Award. This award is open to all pharmacy students, pre-registration trainees and recently qualified pharmacists (within the last two years). Entrants are required to submit a 500 word essay on the following topic: “It is clear that the practice of Community Pharmacy will change significantly in the future – how do you see yourself contributing to that change?”
