Davies appointed RPS director for Wales

Mair Davies has been appointed as the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's director for Wales, taking up the role with immediate effect while stepping down as chair of the Welsh Pharmacy Board. Suzanne Scott Thomas will step into the role of acting chair until the boards elect a new chair at its next board meeting on October 15.

Ash Soni, RPS president, said: “Mair has been an extremely effective chair and contributed to the development of pharmacy in Wales. Her involvement across Great Britain has helped create the RPS as the organisation it is today.”

Ms Davies was elected as chair of the Welsh Pharmacy Board in July 2011 and has worked as a consultant in professional education for the Welsh Centre for Pharmacy Profession Education at Cardiff University. Previous roles have included course director at Welsh School of Pharmacy and principle pharmacist in education and training at the Princess of Wales hospital.

She also has wide experience of hospital practice and community pharmacy, with previous senior management roles in both.
