The average number of new cancer cases in Scotland is expected to rise from by 33 per cent to over 40,000 cases in 2023- 2027. This increase is mainly the result of the population growing older, say analysts. Lung cancer is predicted to by the most common cancer by 2023-2027.

Contractors who dispense 2,500 or more items per month will receive an extra 1.2p per item, PSNC has announced. As part of the funding agreement to deliver £2 billion to pharmacies in 2015-16, contractors with the highest dispensing volumes will receive a payment of 54.7p per item.

2,077 pre-registration trainee pharmacists of 2,811 passed their June 2015 registration assessment, less than three quarters of the students. This represents the lowest June pass rate in six years. 116 candidates were taking the exam for a second time, while 74 were taking it for their third and final time.
