Update: Parr joins NPA/CIG conference

Scotland's chief pharmaceutical officer Rose Marie Parr is the latest high profile name to be added to the speakers roster for the National Pharmacy Association/Communications International Group 'Forwards in Partnership' national conference in Manchester on June 20.

NPA chief executive, Mark Lyonette, said: “Rose Marie Parr is a driving force behind the Pharmacy First approach in Scotland, which is about making care more convenient for patients and engaging the entire healthcare workforce, to cope with the ever increasing demands of an ageing population. NPA members from all parts of the UK will find her remarks insightful and illuminating. Rose Marie is a great addition to our conference line-up.”

Ms Parr joins the secretary of state for health and social care, Matt Hancock, and Ed Waller, NHS England's director of primary care strategy and NHS contracts, a role which includes pharmacy, who have already been announced as headline speakers at the conference in Manchester, run by the NPA in partnership with Communications International Group, publisher of P3pharmacyPharmacy MagazineIndependent Community Pharmacist and Training Matters.

Richard Thomas, Editor of Pharmacy Magazine, said: “This is a great opportunity to learn first hand about the latest policy developments affecting community pharmacy from a growing list of significant figures in Government, the NHS and the wider sector. It is also a chance for pharmacists to have their say on the things that matter most to them. This important conference comes at a crucial time for pharmacy. It is a ‘must attend’ event."
