GSK unveils new consumer health business

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has released details about its new-look consumer healthcare business in Great Britain, Ireland and Northern Europe.

The announcement comes on the back of the joint venture between GSK Consumer Healthcare and Novartis OTC, which sees GSK become the world’s largest OTC manufacturer with sales of over £6 billion.

The company claims to be a world leader in the pain relief and respiratory categories, while also being number one in specialist oral health and holding market leading positions in skin health, nutrition and gastro intestinal.

Its brands include Panadol, Aquafresh, Corsodyl, Voltarol and Savlon.

The group will be led by Carlton Lawson (pictured), who has been appointed area general manager, and Darren Folker, sales director for Great Britain.

Mr Lawson said: “The new GSK Consumer Healthcare exists for one purpose: to help more people around the world do more, feel better and live longer.

“We have exciting plans for our portfolio of world-class brands and believe that we have all the key ingredients we need – healthy supply, strong investment and superb talent – to drive business growth for our customers, the categories and our brands.”
